Annual Student Learning and Interaction Program
- Jan 05, 2023
ASLI or Annual Student Learning and Interaction program was held from 5th to 7th January 2023 in JNAFAU, Hyderabad and was the first of it’s kind event hosted by the department of Painting, JNAFAU after the initial MIRCHI FEST in 2019. The main focus was to revive the creative energy in the University and to highlight the innovative pedagogies brought forward by the faculty. ASLI ended up making students come outside their studio classrooms and syllabus and learn holistically about various factors that make a professional artist successful. With that in mind, ASLI succeeded in connecting various fields within the Art Society of Hyderabad together and became a platform for engagement between artists, students of fine arts, gallerists, collectors, and professors.
The Final Year students displayed around 150 works including paintings, new media, sculptures, and installations. A part of these works were displayed in Nehru Art Gallery and the main display was set up at the Atrium Space. The first, second, and third years from the Painting Department set up Craft and Food Stalls. Some of the products displayed in the Craft Stalls were produced by various workshops conducted by the Department. These included Welding, Terracota, Batik weaving, Paper mache, and Pichwai. ASLI also conducted a Short Film Screening on the first two days which included ten films curated from a list of individually produced films submitted by students and filmmakers from Hyderabad.
