Code of Research Ethics

The University proposes to prepare guidelines on Research ethics to be understood and followed by the staff and students to ensure that the research is conducted in accordance with its

1. To ensure research is conducted in an ethical manner ensuing dignity, lights safety and privacy of the participants and public in general. The Research and Development Cell will create awareness training to the staff and students and check the ethical practices followed by them. The following Research ethics in broad will made mandatory to follow:

  • To promote the objectives of conducting research such as knowledge outcome, truth, innovation avoidance of error.
  • To adhere to the values that are essential to collaborative research work such as trust accountability, mutual respects and fairness.
  • Researcher should be accountable to public and adhere to moral and social values.
  • To build public support for research.

2. The Research ethics will be incorporated in the syllabus of P.G and Ph.D programmes to make the researcher well in advance be aware of the research ethics to be practiced while conducting research and publishing paper.

3. The Students/Staff/Researcher if found to deviate from acceptable research practices such as the following necessary measures and action will be taken.

  • Publishing the same in two different journals without telling the editors
  • Not informing a collaborator of your intent to file a patent in order to make sure that you are the sole inventor.
  • Using an inappropriate statistical technique in order to enhance the significance of your research.
  • Conducting a review of the literature that fails to acknowledge the contributions of other people in the field or relevant prior work.
  • Failing to keep good research records.
  • Sabotaging someone’s work.

4. Review research applications for ethical approval by a Committee constituted by the University.
