About Facilities & Service Planning
The Department of Facilities and Services Planning at the School of Planning and Architecture, JNAFAU, offers specialized programs in Building Services Engineering (BSE) at the B.Tech level and M.Tech in Energy and Sustainable Built Environment. The B.Tech in Building Services Engineering (BSE) equips students to design and manage building systems like HVAC, lighting, and plumbing, integrating AI for smart automation and energy optimization. IoT-enabled sensors are incorporated to monitor and control building performance in real-time, enhancing efficiency. The curriculum emphasizes sustainable practices, preparing students to create safe, functional spaces. Collaboration with architects and contractors is central, leveraging AI-driven analytics for innovative solutions. Graduates transform structures into intelligent, livable environments aligned with modern standards. The M.Tech in Energy and Sustainable Built Environment addresses climate challenges through multidisciplinary study of resource-efficient infrastructure. It focuses on reducing the 40% of global CO2 emissions from buildings, using advanced energy modeling. The program aligns with India’s 2070 net-zero pledge and UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students tackle urban infrastructure demands, requiring US$ 4.5 trillion by 2030. Graduates design sustainable, resilient built environments to combat climate change.
