M.Tech. (Energy and Sustainable Built Environment)
M.Tech. in Energy and Sustainable Built Environment is a 2 years Post-Graduate engineering course, in School of Planning and Architecture JNAFAU, It is a multidisciplinary course addressing the concerns of increasing utilization of natural resources by providing the potential knowledge on the built environment priorities and critical issues of greenhouse gas emissions and tackling climate issues. As per the sources, worldwide, buildings are responsible for around 40% of energy and process-related CO2 emissions, 50% of all extracted materials, 33% of water consumption and 35% of generated waste.
In the context of India, more than half of India’s urban infrastructure needs till yr. 2030, as housing, electricity, transportation, water, and waste management, are yet to be developed. India must invest US$ 4.5 trillion in infrastructure to enhance economic growth and societal well-being. At COP26, India pledged to achieve net
zero emissions by 2070.
This programme has immense potential to meet the above demands to accommodate the needs of infrastructure that would cater to challenging climate change issues. The course would also address the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
