Director of Evaluation & Professor in Architecture

Prof. Dr. S. Kumar graduated in Architecture from JNTU, took his Post – Graduate Degree in Planning from CEPT, Ahmadabad and his Doctoral Degree in Architecture from JNAFA University.
From September 2004 to April 2011, he functioned as the Head of the Department and between May 2011 and March 2017, he was the Director of Admissions. He was additionally holding the post of the Director of the International Relations Cell for over two years. He is even holding the post of Principal of JNAFAU School of Planning and Architecture since March 2017.
His teaching concerns housing, planning, climate responsive architecture and more particularly traditional residential architecture. He has published numerous articles and addressed in several forums.

He has conducted several seminars and workshops on topics such as Passive & Low Energy Architecture, Green Building Design and Integral approaches for sustainable cities etc.
He has also been invited to be an expert for Consultation Workshops such as the Environmental Building Regulations and Guidelines and Preparation of Training Modules for Housing Programmes.

He has also organized a two week Staff Development programme on “Emerging Trends in Planning Education”.

He visited Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany as part of the Academic Exchange Programme. He has served as member and Chairman of various Board of Studies.
Currently, he is the Chief Engineer of the University and in charge for construction, maintenance and operation for JNAFAU.
