The Department of Sculpture & Visual Communication,
(i) Offers a 4 year degree programme leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts, in Sculpture & Visual Communication.
The academic programme the annual intake of 10 students consists of 4 years. The 1 year of common foundation course in the basics of art, the remaining six semesters are devoted to professional training. In this programme, the students acquire expertise in various techniques and processes of the art of sculpture. They learn the fundamentals of human Anatomy structure through life study. Experimental works are encouraged in sculptural compositions and portraiture. Practical involvement in various processes and techniques such as Terracotta, Wood carving, Stone carving and Bronze casting broaden their creative possibilities. Theoretical and analytical exposure to Indian Iconography, Aesthetics and History of art prepare a ground for new expression. In the 4th Year final semester the students submit a single concept dissertation to complete the degree requirement.
