Degree Programs
School of Planning and Architecture offers two graduate programs, three post graduate part-time P.G Diploma programs that have been designed to include inputs in various technical areas as well in areas relating to art and aesthetics.
B.Arch Program (Regular/Part-time)
The School of Architecture offers a graduate Programme in Architecture, recognized by the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education). The program includes relevant courses in the concepts, process, technical details and design practice, as well as elective in an area of student interest.
The course work is to help the student understand finer aspects of Architecture which are very much integral to designing, planning and scheduling of buildings. The courses work aims to impart quality education through effective communication skills and making the students conscious of built form in the contemporary scenario.
Eligibility: Students sholud qualify in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted by Council of Architecture(COA)) with 10+2 (Maths stream) with an aptitude of 50% or more and 10+3 in Architecture are eligible for admission into Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)
B.Plan. Program
Aims to impart knowledge, skills and attitude needed to pursue a career in urban planning, research, policy making and management, It is essentially multi-disciplinary in nature the subjects related to urban development and management include urban economics, sociology, legislation, development theories, politics, transportation, services, housing, landscape.etc.
The curriculum is structured to include major thrust areas like IT skills including AUTOCAD, GIS web technologies.
Analytical skills including quantitative methods, mathematical models, project appraisal.
Communication skills including oral, written, graphic communication and technical presentations, and Infrastructure and environment related issues
Eligibility: Intermediate (10+2 with maths, physics & chemistry as main subjects) or any other equivalent examination.
Selection Procedure: The students have to quality in a common entrance exam EAMCET
M.Arch Program (Interior Design)
The M.Arch program which offers specialization in interior Design demands a passion for the subject, and its position within the school and faculty means that it is superbly placed to allow the student to pursue directions from the most creative to the most technical and is professional in approach. Design is central to the course and the studio-based approach encourages the synthesis of the technological, theoretical and aesthetic strands. The students also enjoy a continuing and consistent interaction with well-qualified experts and practicing professionals in the field. The curriculum is structured to include study of materials, construction, environmental sciences, design theory, which form an integral part of interior design. Organizing seminars furthers these, computer related studies & workshops.
Eligibility: Should have completed B.Arch from a recognized university as per council of Architecture norms.
Selection Procedure: The students have to qualify in an entrance exam conducted by the university.
M.U.R.P (Master of Urban & Regional Planning)
The course is aimed to provide professional training in urban and regional planning with special emphasis on environment human settlements and planning issues. On completion, most students go into practice as planners.
The first semester of the course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practice of planning.
The second semester aims to provide a range of choice for specialist study within the field of urban and regional planning.
These aims to develop the candidate's capacity to undertake a competent piece of planning research under supervision. The selection of the research topic is at the choice of the student, subject to approval.
Eligibility: Should have completed B.Arch/ B.Tech (Civil)/Masters degree in Economics or Geography, from a recognized university.
